Our targets

We have completed our own carbon footprint baseline analysis and continue to update our measures against this baseline and intensity level.

Understanding our own impact

We have completed a full assessment of our office intensity and regularly review this to ensure we are as energy efficient as we can be. We have implemented enhanced controls for lighting, space and water heating linked to movement occupancy, temperature and time of the day.

We are pleased with the impact we have had throughout 2023, reducing our calculated carbon emissions by 11.7% baseline and intensity level.

Manchester City of Trees

Our people are passionate about supporting green charities. We have harnessed their enthusiasm by supporting the Manchester City of Trees charity. City of Trees is delivering a green recovery and tackling the climate crisis by planting trees and restoring woodlands for the people and wildlife of Greater Manchester.

Supporting better travel

Travel and commuting are significant aspects of our carbon footprint and we have therefore encouraged our employees to participate in sustainable and low carbon travel initiatives. Some examples of this are:

  • Season ticket loans to support the use of public transport
  • A tax efficient Cycle To Work scheme
  • Electric vehicle salary sacrifice scheme
  • Electric vehicle company car fleet

These benefits allow employees access to affordable, clean and green travel.

Technology supporting carbon reduction

The implementation of DF Check, our remote auditing tool, has saved our own auditors from visiting many of our dealers. DF Check allows dealers, on a risk assessed basis, to conduct self-audits. In 2021, we estimate the DF Check tool saved almost 65,000 miles of travel, reducing CO2 emissions by approximately 17 tonnes.
